Review: This mixtape reaffirms why Luda is on the top of this rap game and why his fans love him. The tape is comprised mostly of clever remixes and teasers, with a skit or two thrown in. One particular track Politics As Usual features Ludacris openly supporting Barack Obama while poking fun at George Bush, Hilary Clinton and John McCain. The Obama campaign criticized Ludacris for the lyrics, stating “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics” (Full Story Here). The funniest skit we’ve have heard in a long time is The Vocalizer, where Luda makes fun of the vast array of rappers and singers who have found success by hopping on the auto-tune or vocoder train. Check out Ordinary Negroes if you want to be rolling on the floor laughing. Luda remixes several popular down south bangers including Bigg Ass House and Shonuff Revisited. Throw It Up featuring Lil Wayne is on the tape as well. Other noteworthy tracks include Pinky Shinin featuring Small World and Stay Together. The tape is really good, its available as a free download all over the Internet and on Luda’s MySpace page. Ludacris dropped the tape “for the fans” in anticipation of a September release of his sixth studio album titled “Theater of the Mind.”
